I have a Love/Hate Relationship with memes.

I mean, I have a hard enough time putting my own thoughts onto a page, even though there are so many things swimming around in my head (and yes, some of them are thoughts.)

So when I get “tagged” in one of these Meme Ponzyi Schemes, my first reaction is always a lowly-groaned “Doh!”

Then I settle into it and recognize it as a vote of confidence from another member of this on-line community we have going here, and I get all weepy and stuff and thank God for My Blessed Existence…

Anyway, that’s enough bullshit for one post, so here’s the deal:

FranIAm tagged me (and others) to come up with a list of five classes we’d like to take, the only rule being that one of them had to come from the list of the person who “tagged” you. This is actually pretty cool, despite my stick-in-the-mud initial reaction, in that it really made me think about where I’d like my personal development to go.

Now, that may be taking this too seriously, and I won’t be offended if I’ve lost you already. It’s certainly a departure from the gut-splittingly delightful list of course offerings over at FranIAm University, any one of which would be worth the price of tuition and the Curse of a J-term’s worth of cafeteria food; but you know me, Mister Serious. Right.

So from FIA’s list, sign me up for “How to Earn Ridiculous Amounts of Money Using Your Arcane, Little-Appreciated Talents,” because I’m tired of teetering on the brink of a financial abyss. Plus my boss is a bitch.

And having some extra scratch would allow me to pursue some of my interests, things in which I dabble without the slightest legitimate expertise, but which I’d dearly love to be good at.

I’d like to spend a year traveling and studying photography with someone who was really good at “the Nature Stuff.” Photography has really captured my fancy over the past half-year, so I’d like to be able to do more than just flail at it.

I’d like to take a cooking course, something exploring World Cuisines, then travel around the country, cooking with different folks and taking lots of Nature photographs.

I’d love to take a course in Comparative World Religions, because I believe that kind of understanding to be the key to World Peace. And then I’d like to travel around the world, seeing how it all works first-hand, and cooking the local foods of every Culture, and taking photographs of their landscapes.

And I’d like to take a course called Fifty Ways To Please Your Lover, with a cute little T.A. who would help me with the lab homework, and I’d take her on my trip around the world, and we’d do lab-work in Fifty Countries, and I’d cook local delicacies for her, and take photographs of her in foreign landscapes, and swap stories from local Mystics for the Biblz of Ceiling Cat…

. ..but of course, I’d have to take “How to Earn Ridiculous Amounts of Money” first…

That’s five.
