Wednesday, March 20, 2013, the first official day of Spring:
Another shot taken through my kitchen window.
This is unlikely to last, the sun being higher in the sky these days.
But who’s to say this will be our last wintry blast?Ā š
We got nine and half inches at my house. I am probably very nearly alone in being happy about that.
j, I went out snow-shoeing this afternoon, and could hardly have been more pleased! Deep powder on steep terrain, just over the line into Vermont. š
It’s actually kind of nice seeing the fluffy white stuff rather than grey banks of the old. I’ve always enjoyed seeing spring flowers popping up in melting snow.
Yes, it’s pretty and it’s fleeting – I shoveled a little, then packed down the rest! š
I love your photography and your blog. I passed a photo-op that seems LittleBangTheory worthy. If you get to Northampton in the next day or two, there’s a vacant lot on King Street full of a season’s worth of dirt and salt and tar caked snowplow scrapings with a beautiful frosting of natural snow that struck me on many levels. I’m sure someone like you with your eye and equipment (as in camera) could create something beautiful out of a sad, inevitable result of our car culture dealing with winter. I’d even consider $$$ for your troubles š
Mike, welcome to LBT, and thanks for commenting.
I might be able to get to NoHo in the next day or two and will keep an eye out for that lot – thanks for the tip! But things change very quickly this time of year, so we’ll have to wait and see what I find.
You’ve found me here at a much less active time than was previously the case; I’m struggling to find time to blog, and feel like I need to apologize for the slow posting…
…but Welcome none the less! š
You were right, the effect was fleeting. Drove by it today and it looked like just another dump of dirty ice!

Just thought I’d stop by to say hello and hope you’re doing well as a professional photographer. You deserve great success.
What Susan said and “I miss you.” Hope all is well with you and those you love. –Paul (I am not blogging either; all on FB)
I’d like to talk to the owner of this blog about possibly using one of the photos for the cover of a book I have coming out in 2014. Can someone please contact me. angelaadockterharris.com
