Attack Of The Brown Thumb! December 21, 2007

WOW, what a beautiful, healthy plant! Here, give it to me. I’ll kill it in a week.

Despite the fact that my garden this past year looked suspiciously like I’d injected something banned into it’s ass, the sad truth is that I have the World’s Brownest Thumb.

So it was no surprise to me (but nonetheless a great disappointment) to be greeted this morning by the sight of my lovely indoor Herbs Gone Dead, shriveled like Barry Bond’s dick, killed dead by a lack of care in an environment that’s inherently drier than a Nun on Sunday:

I know, I know. I’m supposed to pick the herbs before I dry them.

But I forgot, OK?

So I’m embarking on the Rehydration – Resurrection Road as we speak. I’m hopeful, but not confident. I guess the Worst Case Scenario is that I have a supply of organically grown dried herbs on hand. But in truth I was looking forward to fresh, and to putting these guys back into the ground in the Spring.

There are greater tragedies in the world, but none greater in my kitchen.

Oh well. Onward.

The wind blows, the leaves fall, the herbs come in.

This is your new home, buddies. Beneath a big, south-facing kitchen window. Hope you like it!
