Whether or not one considers themselves to be Christian, the life and lessons attributed to Jesus of Nazareth, as put forth in the Bible’s New Testament, are worth considering as a template for one’s life. A simple carpenter born of an unwed mother and imbued with a passion for Social Justice, Jesus hung out with the poor, the helpless, the disenfranchised. He challenged bigotry and discrimination. He recognized the Devine in every living thing, spoke Truth to Power, and paid for it with his life.
Let’s take this opportunity to think about what we can do to honor his sacrifice, and perhaps look skyward and say, “Thank You:”
Happy Easter to all, and have a selfless day.

So last night was busy, and I got distracted.
And you didn’t get t see what I saw, because I didn’t post it.
Sorry. I’m feeble like that.
But I did save the pictures, in case I should come around, and I have, and here they are.
Heaven, as sampled from the evening sky over Mount Greylock:
…and Hell, as depicted from a hilltop two miles away, all glittery and seductive:
Both courtesy of Gizmo, thank you sir!

‘K, so it’s the growing season again, and I’m in hot pursuit of local, organic, wild edibles.
‘Cause you know, I’m really not a big fan of Monsanto’s genetically-fucked-up Frankenfood.
And a carbon footprint of, um, ZERO sounds great to me.
So I was pleased to find these delicate beauties along the road on my way home from work on Friday:
Yeah, those are oyster mushrooms. And they’re about to be consumed by slugs, or “Berkshire Escargot,” as they’re locally known.
Well, let me tell you, I put the brakes on that action by, uh, harvesting them for my personal consumption. ‘Cause you know, if your incarnations go through incremental changes, it takes a lot longer to get to heaven! 😆

In the depths of Evernight
with the chill fingers of Hell pulling at your spine
and the weight of clay filling your sunken eyes,
you wait. Didn’t they tell you?
This is forever!

Have a truly horrible Halloween.
