Ice storms have their own inherent black-and-whiteness which renders the colors within almost irrelevant.

…That is, my 16-35mm f2.8 zoom lens.
Sunset, at a farm on the plains of Hadley:

Actually, this is a hog farm, benign enough at this frozen time of year, but come the Spring Thaw, it’ll infuse the local atmosphere with four months’ worth of frozen pig farts. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, consider yourself lucky.
Here’s a flock of blackbirds, swooping and circling over the barn:

Again, though this isn’t a panoramic shot, there’s something expansive about the perspective.
This lens will certainly have a learning curve, but I’m totally game for that.
