We had a guest in town this week. Elizabeth Warren, candidate for Senate in Massachusetts, visited The West End Pub in Buckland as part of her Western Massachusetts campaign.
She was enthusiastically greeted by a relatively large group of people in this usually uncluttered town. That’s her in the red jacket in the middle of this crowd:
She was an attentive listener:
…and seemed to care about engaging with people:
She talked a little more formally about the things she believes in and plans to work for:
I wasn’t an unbiased observer, but rather was fully on board with her appraisal of problems and prescriptions for solutions.
I knew I wasn’t alone in liking this as Pip wagged his tail in appreciation:
Thanks to Ms. Warren for noticing that we exist out here in Western Massachusetts.
Haven’t seen a hair of Senator Brown…
Nothing like politics in New England – always with the personal touch.
I thought of you, Ralph, when I donated another $50 to her recently. She and others like her are my hope.
Paul, thank you, it’s wonderful that you’re willing to support a Senate candidate across the continent from you. I sent her a number of Grants earlier on, but after nearly a year of unemployment, I’m reduced to rallies and lawn signs… and blog posts!
I discovered I can’t donate to US political campaigns from Canada which hardly seems fair since you just know there are a lot of corporate sponsors who rarely set foot in the country.
It was nice of Elizabeth Warren to show up. I was sorry she didn’t get the position of Chief of the Consumer Protection Agency but hope she’ll be a good Senator (I’m assuming she’ll win).
Very nice candid shots btw.
Love her.
Hey, I saw her first!!! đŸ˜†
Way cool! Some very valid points! I appreciate you writing this write-up plus the rest of the website is very good.
