Holly rented a dumpster this past week, hoping we could get rid of some of the junk which tends to pile up around a Country Place (which this is.)
Well, with six hands and three heads working on it, though I admit to coming late to the party due to a Progeny Delivery Event, we loaded that sucker up to its fill-line:
…and today it all went away, leaving little behind other than deep truck ruts in the lawn, a broken dooryard walkway stone and a bill to come for the tonnage.
Small price, I’d say, for a more presentable yard and lots of new-found space in the workshop, except I don’t know how much the whole thing cost.
Thanks to Holly for springing for that monster, and to Lizz for wading into that pile of rotting lumber beside the barn.Β I’m humbled and grateful.
Every time I go into the basement, I think we need a dumpster. I’m so ready to divest of things.
I think the deal is to know before you rent what size dumpster you need, then just get on it. Divest mercilessly.
I’m new to your blog, but love your photography. I’m interested in using one of your photos from a couple of years ago, if you have a larger file. Please let me know if that’s an option.
I could fill that thing twice if I were allowed to work on it alone.
Elaine, welcome! It’s always great to find new readers.
What photo are you interested in, and for what purpose? I lost a year’s worth of files in a computer melt-down, so no guarantees, but I’ll look…
That’s great – thanks for responding to my query. It’s the one from November 2009, “Barn with light”. The tree is so beautiful in that shot. If you click on my photo, you can get my direct contact info. I am a graphic designer in Virginia and interested in the photo for a project, but I’d need a file at least twice the size of the one posted, preferably bigger. If you contact me directly, I can offer a fee for the photo. Thanks for your consideration.
jomegat, I found the Ladies’ help indispensable – in fact, they did the bulk of the work, I just helped!
Elaine, I found it – a raw file from 2009, what luck! I’ll try to resize it appropriately and send it on, compensate me as you see fit (I have no idea what photos are going for these days.)
Let me know if I fail, I’ll keep trying. π
I’d be fine with the raw file. I’d be happy to send you compensation, but you’ll have to contact me so I know where to send a check. My email is elaine@noblepursuits.com
Elaine, thanks, I’ll be in touch by email. π
Hey CR, it’s about time that you become famous! E@npsva, thanks!
From this front, all I really want for Christmas is a dumpster..or truth be told, a good place to relocate too much good stuff. Everything from extra pots and pans and kitchen ware and sleeping bags. Load by load I take it to Sally’s Army or the residence where some local women find the peace and presence to get on with thier lives. No sense in throwing good stuff away, but some days, a dumpster would be most welcome.
Glad you had help with the dumpster party. it’s always less stressful when somebody else makes the decisions and you have the very occassional overriding vote.
Clean barn, clear mind.
Yes, Laurie – now I can die fulfilled! …and empty barned! π
And good on you for remembering the ladies down the street. ‘Tis the Season!
