A Spike In Page-Views! February 23, 2011

Yesterday my “daily page views” jumped from well under two hundred to well over one thousand (!), which leads me to suspect I’ve been “linked to” by a far more popular site.  There used to be a feature on my blog’s Dashboard which showed me when this happened, but WordPress changes have left me in the dark about such things.

If any of you new viewers get back here, I’d love to know how you heard about my humble blog so that I can properly thank the source of my increased traffic.

Thanks!  – TCR

*MYSTERY SOLVED*

Yeah, that was easy (thanks to me attentive visitors!)

Thanks to Tengrain for his kind link over at Crooks & Liars!

…and to beatgrl and McJeff for their help on this one.

There are stats on the main dashboard, but there is also another link on the left-hand column that says “stats” and that page has more detail, including where people linked from.

Hi, I was directed here from Crooks and Liars. As it turns out, we share some interests. Nature, Photos, good food, music, women. I’m in my 50’s and work as a software trainer for a large company. I am often in the Hartford/Windsor/Springfield area for business, in fact I should be out there in the next few weeks.
Since I am familiar with the area, I really enjoy your photos. I spend time exploring CT, MA and VT. I really love Winter in NE, although to be fair, I usually only spend a week or two in it, not 6 months! Anyway, I like your blog and will be visiting regularly. Keep up the great photos!

I don’t post much, but will start more, using photos. You’ve inspired me! Thanks!

Jeff, Welcome, and thanks so much for your kind words.

Yeah, we get lots of winter here most years, and it appears that “climate change” may be gifting us with slightly warmer and quite precipitation-heavy winter seasons in the future.

I’m humbled to be an inspiration (!) to anyone’s blog efforts, and look forward to seeing things through your lens!

Well, I wish I could take credit for your increased traffic flow, though I do link to you occasionally.

I think people only come to my blog in droves daily when they’re working on some art history term paper.

Well deserved attention, my friend!

Tell Jeff about my blog (s), maybe he likes art as well! 🙂

Thanks, PS. This spike will go away in about one day, though perhaps a few folks will like what they see enough to become regulars, which is as much as I could hope for!

PS, I tried dropping in “suggestive” tags, but after a small spike in ‘views they got wise to me! 🙂

Thanks to some awesome Powers That Be (yes, I watch a lot of “Angel”!) I got a similar spike this past weekend….picked up a few new subscribers and got some nice comments. It’s good to have a “guardian blogger” looking in from time to time!
Keep up the beautiful work!!!

dc, my “Blogfather” is Tengrain over at Mock, Paper, Scissors – he’s been most encouraging of my photographic efforts, for which I can hardly thank him enough!

I also have a “Blogmother,” Blue Gal (yes, that Blue Gal!) who encouraged me to begin blogging and helped me get things going on the technical end. She’s brilliant and wields pointy objects when skewering The Right – just the way I like it. 🙂

Again, thanks for your kind words.

Aw, you’re welcome.

I wish that someone would give you a gallery show. I’m gonna keep working on that.

Regards,

Tengrain
