It’s Winter! December 30, 2010

Like most of the Northeast, we’re having a bit of winter here in The Berks.Ā  It’s pretty up in the hills, with scenes like this one, a late afternoon shot of a shoulder of Spruce Hill up in Florida:

We didn’t get as much here as many nearby areas did, but the roads were nonetheless slick with blowing snow for a couple of days, and the streams descending through hushed cascades offered me an opportunity to break out Gizmo for a few close-ups:

…and:

That last one was taken beneath a heavy overcast; I really liked the textures and palette which came through.

Beautiful! Magical! I just drove through Florida and we were on a timeline, so I didn’t have time to stop and take photos. You did well!!

Happy New Year to you and Susan! And thanks for often taking the time to leave comments on The Pagan Sphinx. You are a real friend.

I love the subtle colors in these shots and the detail you get with your friend Gizmo is amazing. This is a place where I’m always sure the colors are just right.

I hope you’re both enjoying your champagne and oysters. Happy New Year.

Hi, nice images, great work. I wish I lived in a place where there was more snow (it rarely snows here in Fort Worth).
I hope you had a great New Year’s. Here’s to a wonderful 2011.

Susan, yes, the Champagne and oysters flowed and slid with gusto, ringing in the New Year with gulps and giggles. šŸ™‚

Marc, it’s great to hear from you – I hope things are going swimmingly out your way, though of course since you’re paying attention to our current socio-political situation, I’m sure teeth are being gnashed. Let’s hope (against all reason) for a better 2011, eh?
