Why, I’m a Great Horned Owl, visiting from a raptor rehabilitation center in Conway, Massachusetts:

Cool bird, that.Β  Taken at the Conway Festival of the Hills this past weekend.

More on that event later.

Owl be looking forward to more.

(I have some friends, who now live up in your neck(ish) of the woods (Maine) but used to have a big raptor center in NC, and I loved going there and watching and helping — mostly watching, ’cause dem birds can git vicious!)

I was wondering how you managed to get so close and with such great light. πŸ™‚ What a beautiful bird that little red-haired fairy is touching.

What a magnificent bird.

Cuz, I’m working on getting a photographic date at this raptor rehab center; perhaps some good photos of the eagles, etc. can generate some income to support the work.

PS, yeah, it was indeed magnificent. This gentleman also has at least a couple of mature bald eagles in his yard, which I hope to get some close-ups of this coming year.

And the look of joy and wonder on that little fairy’s face when she first saw that owl was… priceless!

I’m not sure which picture I like best – the owl in close-up or the owl and the lovely little girl. There’re both wonderful.

btw: Do you know where I might rent a raptor? We have pigeons, you see. Don’t want to kill them – just scare them off πŸ™‚

Magnificent indeed, DC!

And Susan, sorry to say I don’t – perhaps that’s the ticket to your early retirement… Rent-a-Raptor! πŸ˜‰
