Passing a nearby cemetery this week, I noticed that a crypt door was open.
Call it morbid curiosity, but I had to stop and look inside.
And take a picture, of course:
It was, predictably, empty. But it was none the less creepy, and I spent very little time with my back to that open door, until I got distracted by these pussy toes:
I didn’t have Elliot mounted, but my Sweet Sixteen did admirably for such a windy afternoon.
Thanks, SS!
Now, why was it “creepy”? I find cemeteries quite charming. My favorite is a green cemetery near here. They even have a nature trail, and some plots are along it. Very beautiful.
Love these.
The man who built our house is resting in that cemetery.
Tschuss!
An open crypt would be a little creepy on even the nicest day.
Bobbie, I saw way too many horror movies as a very little kid, with vampires and the Living Dead and such things beyond anything but my most primal comprehension. It scarred me, it did, such that I’m still scared in my fifties.
PS, yes, they’re cool, though they’re both products of my Sweet Sixteen, and would have been more powerfully rendered by Elliot, though he was sleeping in the back when I snagged these. Sometimes the roadside stuff demands a “hit-and-run” approach.
Frau B., aren’t they all?
And Susan, yes, I find them to be so. I’m glad you understand. 😉
