trackback
Took the slightly longer way home today, down along the Deerfield river, looking for flowering trees at the river’s edge. Instead I found a young bald eagle rending a rainbow trout up in a big oak tree:
I was screened from it by enough branches to be able to watch it for a while without spooking it. Unfortunately they also obscured the eagle, but hey, I tried!
Thanks to Gizmo for this one, propped up as he was in my driver’s side seat.
What a find!
Our cat caught a lizard this morning.
🙂
Awesome. I am so envious.
Very cool photo. Even cooler that you were able to spy on him for a bit.
I find birds this size to be very other-worldly. They give me the chills (in a good way, of course!).
Fantastic photo. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I love your part of the world–although we live in the desert southwest now, we spent many years in the town next to Deerfield, NH. I know it’s yet another Deerfield, but also beautiful.
too cool!
It appears to be a see-through fish. Really nice effect and excellent capture of an eagle. What a rare treat.
