I’m playing with my capabilities here, mostly because I can, but partly because it just does me.

Tobacco barns on the plains of Hadley:

I hope that looks to you at least a little like it looks to me, which is pretty cool.

But, whatever.  It’s a photograph, for you to take or leave as you see fit.

Namaste.

I’ve just been looking through the posts done since my last visit and find myself impressed as ever. The b&w’s of the old barn and the abandoned factory were particularly appealing to me. The color shots of the sunrise taken on your early morning sojourn with Frau B are amazing. You and Elliot are becoming closer friends all the time. The ice climbing ones were pretty neat and I applaud the climbing chops the two of you will be demonstrating in future. I would be the one standing down next to the car.

Insofar as the Mass senatorial election is concerned all we can hope is that Obama will decide to listen to the ones who brung him. Maybe not, but it’s a hope (or is that a bad word now?).

i love b&w photos – you should do more, they are great!

Sylvia, Susan, DCap, thanks. I’m liking the B&Ws too.

And Susan, we can “hope” for as much, but reality has reared its ugly head in such a way that I’m inclined to eschew hope in favor of a modicum of reality. Our politicians of both major parties are wholly owned by their corporate masters, and yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling confirmed that “our” courts are as well.

I can’t think of another point in my 56 years where I’ve felt this defeated, and at the same time, so energized to make a difference.

Frau B likes to threaten to vote Republican, because we progressives just aren’t pissed off enough to fight for change. I believe she may be right.

No, the Republican Party of my youth is probably gone forever…lost to the far right wingnuts of religiousity, not the party of Lincoln anymore. I am still waiting for an independent candidate who has enough of their own money to keep the special interests out of the game and actually get elected just because they aren’t beholden.

I know we spurn the wealthy but think about it….if they don’t HAVE to take money from anyone else, to whom are they beholden? If we agree with the tenets of their views, why not vote for them. I hope that we are reaching the point where a critical mass sees that we are voting for big money interests whenever we vote Republican or Democrat. My view is that whichever party is in power determines which subsection of the VERY wealthy is getting the BIG slice of the pie. If this version of health INSURANCE legislation is passed the insurance companies will laugh all the way to the bank.

Anyway, I have put a couple of my images from last Saturday up on my blog.

Tschuss!

You might (if you have a little time) enjoy reading this Chris Hedges’ article published yesterday. Of course, you’re correct about having it be better to face the reality. Hope, after all, was one of the monsters that flew out of Pandora’s Box.

Susan, I heard Mr. Hedges give a somewhat similar talk on Alternative Radio today, culminating in a dire prediction about American fascism which I hadn’t a clue as to how to refute.

Perhaps if Pandora had kept her damned knees crossed we wouldn’t be in this mess!

I know. I’ve never been more worried than I am now.
