Two Ways Of Seeing. December 30, 2009

It’s that time of the month again when you get to suffer through my attempts at rendering a full moon.

This late December apparition eluded me, dragging me around the countryside in my gas guzzler for hours, never quite settling on a respectably distant hillside, until finally it was too late, and I was left with an elevated orb set against a fuzzy foreground.

At sunset, with the moon’s features still evident:

…and later, set against the spire of a church in Turners Falls:

I wasn’t able to get much detail in the latter, but I nonetheless liked the result, and hope you do as well.

Peace to you and yours.

CR –

That last one, with the cross, could be the cover of a gothic novel! You sir, have an eye for composition.

So when are you going to have a show?

Regards,

Tengrain

Thanks, you-all, and a Happy New Year to all!

Ten, I’m in the process of trying to frame up some of this year’s better shots, see what I have for thematic groups. But I’m unemployed right now, might be for the winter, so at $25 -$30 for quality frames with UV glass and archival-quality mats and such, it’s going slower than I’d like.

But thanks to your encouragement (among others,) I’m on it, and scoping out low-end galleries which might give a “nobody” a shot. If that comes to pass, I’ll see how far I can take it. 😉

Again, Happy New Year to everyone who has been so patient and supportive of my efforts this far!

The full moon with the cross. Wow. That one really blows me away.

Which church in Turner’s?

How about the 2nd Street Bakery? Or Mocha Joe’s?

I don’t know, Gina, something off of J Street, Saint Mary’s of the Perpetual Bunch of Alcoholics or something. Big brick thing.

Thanks for liking that cross shot, I was running up and down the street cursing to get it, much to the amusement of the local folks who were hanging out on their porches having a fag. Pro’ly lucky I didn’t get mugged. 😉
