Apropos of nothing, here’s a passing shot of a cemetery in Hawley:

The light was right tonight as I passed thise scene for the thousanth time, so you get to see it too.

I’m in love with the gravitationally induced chaos of this scene.

Most of the family cemeteries in our local hills date to deaths in the early 1800s; you have to get down in the river valleys (or closer to the coast) to see many stones older than that.

Strangely, I seldom read the stones; guess I’m just more visually fixated than that, wrapped up in the possible aesthetics of the scene.
