It drives me CRAZY when the clouds do that BLUE thing, where they’re bluer than the sky. The first time I ever really paid attention was during a backpacking trip (age 17) in the Shawangunks. We had the tent pitched on a cliff over the Hudson, and the clouds stood still for hours just over the horizon across the river. An unreal evening and campsite. It was a pleasure to be reminded of it by this photo – and to see the colors in the photo!

Steve, I LOVE The Gunks, spent many a weekend climbing there as a younger man. The Skytop crag and lake up at the Mohonk Mountain House are particularly exquisite!
