A couple more shots from the weekend.
First, one for sherry, who said, “I’d rather just look at the rocks!”
‘k:
I liked the geometry of that one.
And Dan Alroy representing the “with:”
Dan’s looking strong these days!
Oh my gorgeous rocks, scary (to me) climbs!!
Really great shots! Beautiful place!!
amazing, thanks. it is just too breathtaking!!!
I LOVE this rock! Great photo! Actually… these are the kind of lines and shapes I like in my paintings, too. Whoa, what great taste you have here!
Seriously, I think your photos are something special – they make the world look more beautiful than it looks in real life – you are ADDING IN a lot to what is around you by SELECTING OUT just the pieces you do… It’s a very cool paradox.
Steve, I too love this rock. I’ve gazed at it from many angles, and it’s always much more powerful than I could ever catch in a photograph. Its curving lines, its lithic vanishing points, have an infinitely detailed presence in the flesh. And yes, selecting the parts of it which best express my feelings when I view it, that is the challenge.
And while we’re writing about it, I’ve recognized those kinds of lines in your artwork, and it’s made me more aware of them in my observations of the world around me.
It’s circular, dontcha know *wink* !
