An Actual Dinner! April 7, 2008

OK, so tonight I got down to the business of assembling yesterday’s ingredients into tonight’s dinner!
I started with some fresh raviolis stuffed with artichokes, roasted tomatoes and mascarpone, added some oil-wilted baby spinach, and tossed it all with some green olives marinated in herbs de Provence and a rustic pesto of roasted red peppers, almonds and garlic:
It did me fine.
Did you lick the plate? That looks so incredibly delicious. I love anything with artichokes.

Me, I just fried some duck with parsnips, garlic, and shallots (again): none of that fancifyin dough-makin’ here (or did ya buy ’em?) Besides, it’s illegal (or ought to be) to eat tomatoes in New England in April. Seasonal, Man!
Yeah: sounds really good, as do most o’ yer stuff.
johnieB, I’m a ‘Mater Man, and there’s nothing like fresh from my garden. But while that’s not possible, I’ll take the Florida organic ones over nothing.
I keep my footprint small in other ways, but I refuse to eat like a monk.
And I bought the fresh raviolis; my attempts have thus far been indelicate. Which frankly chaps my ass – I have so many ideas for fillings that I’ve got to get them right before I die.
