Here are a few more shots from recent days. I’m playing with my new camera, enjoying wandering in the wilderness of new possibilities, struggling with the steep learning curve I’m presented with.

It would be a lot easier if I could read, but those days seem to be far behind me. So instead, I’ll shoot lots of images, throw most of them out, and try to recognize the Good Ones as they pass through my frame of awareness.

Some striking Red Algae in a vernal pool along the Deerfield:

And another shot of of a portion of Glendale Falls:

Love the second photo. Waterfall scenes are so cool. But the first one caught my attention. At first glance, I thought you had served us up another culinary invention — bean and red potato soup. I guess I must be hungry.

the first looked like someone’s insides. maybe if there was something contrasting on the edges or maybe if it were not so blood like.
the water, as you can tell already is a favorite and if there’s a rock or 2, that’s even better!

I am voting with Sherry on “insides.” I thought for a moment you had become a haruspex and were treating us to an interpretation of entrails. I have rarely been so grateful for a caption to clarify and readjust my perceptions.

I love the close up.

What kind of tree is that in the waterfall scene? I love it.

That’s appears to be a hemlock. CR, buy the polarizer already! :-)))

Tschuss!

DCup, that is indeed a hemlock.

And Frau B., that’s with the polarizer. You should have seen it without!
