Them’s some very expressive flowers. How could I have not noticed these surreal beauties earlier?

This is in the dooryard of the Rolling J Farm. One of many wonders!

have some that are growing a stalk real tall and have buds at top, problem is that it is top heavy and they break off before the flower blooms. They are great and do well in Marion Ohio even over our crazy weather all year.

4. Plug - June 17, 2009

I read that when the “hen” (biggest one) gets big enough, it’ll bloom, then die- but not before producing lots of chicks. Ours is new this year and in bud, so curious to see if it’ll really die after flowering. Pic on my blog (see link below)
