And no, that isn’t a typo…
A mycophagist is someone who loves to find, pick, cook and eat wild mushrooms (and live to tell about it.
)
And that be me!
Well, after a slow start to the fruiting season, with nary a morel in sight and precious few chanterelles, I finally found a buttload of Pleurotus Ostreatus, the venerable Oyster Mushroom:
I first saw these things maybe thirty five years ago, and they were growing on dying elms; now days they seem to be only growing on maples.
Anyway, they clean up pretty guud
And do nicely in a white wine and cream sauce:
…Over raviolis…
I got some red-capped butter boletes while I was out too:
That pile trimmed down to a cup and a half of really nice chunks.
I cooked and cooled them right away and will figure out what to do with them tomorrow!

OMG!!!! Those look so yummy! I used to hunt for wild mushrooms when I lived in Coloado. Some of the best eating ever.
bless ya, not me. tho my grandfather was an expert at it.
I am not a mushroom person but you always make them look tasty, desirous and down right mad hot sexy!
