A pair of Lacquer Cap fungi hang around at a local flume, diggin’ the spray and soaking in the rays: My season’s first wild flowers – colt’s foot, I believe, growing as they frequently do in the loose gravel along the edge of the unpaved road: …with some tiny bees enjoying the first nectar of the year. And a pastoral view of the bucolic village of Shelburne, with a family of deer grazing in the field above: The grass is greening, the early flowers are starting to appear, and soon we’ll be swearing at clouds of voracious Mayflies. But right now, I’m diggin’ it – the mid-day warmth let me cavort around in the woods in a tee-shirt; I got to climb with a friend (well, ok, he climbed, I took photographs. Let’s hear it for Vicarious Experience!)

…and the Spring Peepers serenaded me as I drove homeward with the windows down.

Life is good, you people are excellent, and all the Tom Fuckery in the world can just chill while I enjoy my weekend rambles.

Waaah. I miss Vermont. Got to get there this summer sometime.

So glad you are getting some spring! It’s been a long time coming. Thanks for the photo chronicles. Hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend. Leaving the TF-ery behind is a necessity. The Sabbath is a brilliant invention, whether one views it religiously or not. Cheers.

Jane, yes, it’s a necessity. I’d shrivel up and die without some free time, whether it’s productive or not.

God bless the sabbath! (and it’s implied weekend!)
