Here’s something from the Recent Pile, a community of moss sending their Sexy Parts skyward above an evocative bed of black jelly fungi :
Nature makes strange bedfellows out of all of us, non?
…And another shot of the gneiss which figures so prominently in out riverside geology hereabouts”
Yeah, I know. It’s derivative.
But then, so am I, and so are you. Playing with my children is one of life’s pleasures for which I won’t apologize.

yes, we all are but the 1st photo is hard on a rainy friday. ; )
I had to look at this a couple of times to really appreciate it. It’s soft and wet, yes?
Yes, it is. It’s gelatinous, actually, and I suspect that’s a spring stage of the moss, as it’s not like this later in the year, even if it’s quite wet.
The jelly fungi are always somewhat moist looking, but in this case they’re downright wet!
And sherry, sorry to twist the knife. It’s pretty grim “between” these seasons, and if you’re in a more urban environment, I imagine it’s doubly so. Hang in there, Gurrrl, The Real Deal is just around the corner, with flowers and gardens and sunshine and shorts!
oh i’m petitioning the fates, believe me.
shorts? nope, no way. : )
You are the only person who can make erotica out of fungi!
