The water’s been up on the Deerfield, our local embodiment of aquatic sufficiency. When the river runs, all is good.
Today it ran, without the frenetic excess of a Spring flood, but nonetheless with a certain power and pride.
This place brings me back on a regular basis, for its primal energy and its juxtaposition of the Works of Man and the Works of Nature.

I love the juxtaposition of nature with the background buildings that appear to just be hoping that the river will stay within its banks.
is this close to where you live? can you see it every day?
lucky you!
DCup, me too! I’m generally averse to the mechanistic machinations of Man, but there’s a symbiosis going on here which fascinates me.
And sherry, yes, it’s the next town over, a twelve minute drive, and a frequent after-work destination where I catch some evening light.
How lucky is that??
