Before The Season Beats You Down… December 3, 2007

Here’s one of my favorite singers in the world, ever, doing one of his most famous (and rightly so) compositions:

Mel Torme’s The Christmas Song.

Mr. Torme has one of the most incredible voices of his era, smooth as velvet, sharp as a whip’s crack, as agile as Ella’s. And that’s saying a LOT. Plus, he’s a totally brilliant composer/arranger, scoring many major motion pictures and making quadruple chins beautiful as he does it.

Enjoy this one before we all get to the point where Christmas carols make us want to puke.

Nice. that is the only Christmas song that I can stomach to listen to (my stomach has ears?).

What a voice!
