A torrent of tears

freeing the air of its burden,

drunk deeply by dirt,

reborn

a phoenix of fog,

the scent of a woman,

Our Mother Earth.

I do have to say, I loves me some summer!

Sooo beautiful. Both the poem and the place. Thanks so much! I’m honored to know you. (Can I say I know you?)

Thanks! The words popped into my head while I was looking at that photo and trying to divine how I felt about it. I’m usually not a “pastoral” kinda guy, but this was such a beautiful post-rainstorm evening, I felt like I was in a Romantic Age painting.

And yes, we know what we know about each other, and that’s good!

Wonderful poem and glorious picture!

Your words reminded me of this snippet from Widespread Panic:

I like coconuts, when you break them open
They smell like ladies lying in the sun.

I guess it’s the Summer connection….
